How we count. A logged scan is any successful hit on one of your short links — including link previews, crawlers, uptime checkers and checks that never open your page at all. Nothing is filtered out of this total, so it runs ahead of real scans — by how much depends entirely on where the link is shared; one post into a chat app that fetches previews can add many hits nobody made. A hit whose browser announces itself as a bot shows up as Bot in a code's device breakdown, but a bot that stays quiet is counted as a person.
The per-code visitor figure counts estimated scanner-days, not unique people. It is one token per network address per day, so the same person scanning on two days counts twice, and a whole office on one Wi-Fi counts once. That token is a one-way hash of the scanner's IP address, the code and the date: the address itself is never stored, but the data is pseudonymous rather than anonymous. We never receive your scanners' names, email addresses, or GPS/device location — no permission prompt is ever shown and no precise position is available to us. What IS recorded next to each token is everything the request itself reveals: approximate city, region, country, network operator and the coarse city-level latitude, longitude and timezone our network resolves from the IP address (this is what the map plots), plus device type, operating system, browser, language and the site the link was opened from.
Take your data with you
One file with every dynamic code and its destination, your hosted pages and their leads, funnels, webhooks and API keys. It works on any plan, including after a downgrade or a cancelled subscription — the way out is never sold. The file also states what does not travel: codes already printed keep resolving through this domain until you reprint them.
